Playing with Light and Color

About Me

For as long I can remember, I have always had a camera. I started with a Kodak instamatic with blue flashcubes and continued on with hand me down cameras from the 1960’s and 1970’s. After college I was able to afford new equipment and eventually switched to digital cameras. Both my grandfather and great grandfather were studio photographers and I have always felt like the drive to take pictures was in my blood.

My eye is naturally drawn to colors, patterns and details. Taking photographs is like a dance to me- I love moving in and around a subject, trying different angles and distances and manipulating natural light. I like to use a variety of tools to capture how I feel at the scene rather than just make a snapshot of what I see.

Matted photographs and cards available at Whidbey Artists Collective at Ken's Corner, 4141 WA Hwy 525, 3 miles from the Clinton Ferry Terminal.
